Oberliga the second

It was a bit surprising how confidently we were able to secure our relegation, even if the season ended earlier due to the Corona, so the relegation places were a safe distance. The team has continued to develop in the second year under Gérard and our newcomers, the Beumer brothers, were able to get used to the rough Oberliga air very quickly.

Now it's time for the next league adventure and since the second year is known to be always the harder, Gerard will have to come up with one or the other in order not to be in danger of relegation this year, especially since we are the departure of our promotion heroes Henning Schrief and Nick Andersen. The loss of the super-strong substitute Alex Mazur also needs to be compensated for. This should be achieved with Peer-Luis Kuhlbrodt from the 2nd team and young talent Tobias Spiekermann, who are carefully introduced to the well-rehearsed squad.

The game mode is also new, initially with 2 seasons of 8 teams each and a subsequent division into promotion and relegation relay. So our goal has to be to end up among the first 4 teams of our relay, in order not to have anything to do with relegation. In view of the relay draw, this also seems to be feasible. First of all, I expect Loxten and Soest, after that the form of the day will usually decide the games. The top favorite for promotion plays with TSG Altenhagen-Heepen, in the parallel season and the derby with VFL Gladbeck, because the VFL did not have the luck of the draw on its side. The cellar children of the past year can be expected in the lower regions.
